About Deutchman Uniforms.
Who Are We?
Deutchman Uniforms is a small family owned Uniform and apparel decorating company in Ashland OH. We specialize in fire/ems uniforms, t-shirt printing, embroidery, sales, and a few other small items such as canvas prints.

How did Deutchman start?
In the spring of 2024, Daniel & Esther Nolt were looking for an opportunity to start another business that was more family friendly. Daniel, a businessman by trade, already had started a company, Shady Maple Structures, and the business had done very well. But his daughters (there’s 5 of them) did not have much interest in the shed building industry. So the search began.
One of Esther’s favorite past-times is to sit at the sewing machine and sew. She grew up in the Mennonite community so she sewed a lot of dresses and other items since their dresses could not be bought off the store shelves. Daniel also noticed the oldest girls like sewing and crafting.
Daniel volunteered in the fire service over 10 years (and still counting) and had a lot of knowledge on uniforms. Therefore the idea was born to go into the public safety uniform business. After a little research Daniel and Esther took the leap and started the process.
So Daniel went and purchased a commercial embroidery machine and some equipment to print t-shirts since we thought the two would go hand in hand very well. Thus, Deutchman Uniforms & Workwear llc was formed and his daughters now have a “job” that they take an interest in.
Since then a wide format printer was purchased where they we also can print on canvas and make canvas prints, dtf prints, and more as a supplemental project. Purchasing that printer also allowed orders to be shipped a lot quicker since printing is done in house.
Where did the name come from?
Daniel & Esther both grew up in a conservative Mennonite group in Ohio. Most families, if not all, spoke dutch (also known as Pennsylvania dutch) as a primary language and English was considered more as the second language. Daniel & Esther still talk dutch at home and have taught (or they just picked it up) all there children dutch. Not that we have any belief that it should be taught, we just decided were not going to quit using it. Therefor, we decided to incorporate our background into the name.
